Brief Biography

Dr Gajanan D Wagholikar is a Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology Surgery at the Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital, Chinchwad, Pune.
Dr Gajanan Wagholikar completed graduation (MBBS) and post-graduation (MS) in General Surgery from the B J Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital, Pune.
He stood first in the country at the DNB General Surgery examinations conducted by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi and received the prestigious B Ramamoorthy Gold medal.
He subsequently specialized (MCh) in Surgical Gastroenterology from PGI, Lucknow and following that cleared the DNB examination in the same speciality.
He has been a recipient of the Training fellowship of European Society of Surgical Oncology and went to France and Singapore for advanced training in Hepato-biliary and Pancreatic surgery and Liver transplantation.
He trained in advanced Laparoscopy at Institute of Laparoscopic Surgery, Bordeaux, France.
He has contributed over twenty articles in indexed national and international journals and has authored many book chapters.
He is a member and fellow of several national and international bodies in Gastroenterology and Surgery and is a reviewer for Surgical Gastroenterology articles submitted to the Indian Journal of Surgery.
Dr Wagholikar has been working at the Aditya Birla Hospital since its inception in 2006 and brings with him over a decade of experience in management of complex GI surgical problems, GI cancer and the gamut of open and laparoscopic operations.
