Brief Biography

Dr. Rahul Kallianpur completed his post graduation in Paediatrics from Mumbai, where he trained extensively under the guidance of various experts in the field of Paediatrics and Neonatology. It was during this time that he developed a keen interest in the field of Intensive Care Management of children and especially critically ill newborns while working at the Jaslok Hospital and Research Center, Mumbai.

As a result of this interest in Neonatal Intensive Care, he traveled to Sydney, Australia, where he trained for a period of 4 years for a Fellowship in Neonatal Intensive Care. In Australia, he honed his skills and knowledge in a large Level III, Tertiary Care Neonatal Intensive Care Unit consisting of nearly 40 beds, which was a teaching hospital attached to the University Of Sydney. He is expertly trained in the management of complex medical and surgical problems of the premature and extremely sick neonate. He has been comprehensively trained in Advanced Neonatal Mechanical Ventilation, especially in High Frequency Ventilation and Nitrous Oxide Therapy. During his tenure in Australia he has mentored and taught a regular stream of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students attached to the University of Sydney. He was also actively involved in two large clinical trails in Australia that are currently awaiting completion and publication. He was recently an invited guest faculty in the Advanced Neonatal Ventilation Workshop and CME, the first of its kind to be held in the city of Pune.

Upon his return to India he joined ADITYA BIRLA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, where he will be offering his services as a Full Time Neonatologist and a Neonatal Intensivist. He will also be conducting a High Risk Follow Up Clinic, Well Baby Clinic and contributing his expertise in Antenatal Clinics, Neurodevelopment Clinics and Prenatal Counseling of High Risk Pregnancies. He will be an integral part of the neonatal emergency out-born baby retrieval service team.
