The advent of the pandemic made us white coaters fight like the knights on the border and now that pandemic’s finally bending its spine, I know we fought well. Being the CEO of Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital I wanted to make sure that I am on the frontline with my team and guiding them and also to make sure I wasn’t behind the luxury of my four walls while my team fights the war. The time wasn’t right it presented a dangerous human dilemma but I had to make sure I do the most I can in as limited time as I could. We had the support and co-ordination we needed from both, the people and the government and that was a big motivator for me and my team to keep going.
The cases were increasing rapidly and the numbers were scary, but by providing correct information and maximum awareness, we wanted to help just not the people but the doctors as well. My team was my asset, so my responsibility was not only restricted to the patient which came in, but my team as well. The burden was uncanny, and I knew I wasn’t the only one.
Our mission to be compassionate carers while maintaining the highest safety standards wasn’t a lot for work for us during this time, I can proudly claim that my team has been able to maintain that even before the pandemic or the emergence of the coronavirus. Extra-care was provided, we waited to make sure that in this war with the coronavirus, we’re with you and fighting together to come out of this.
On our part, making sure that the hospital was the safe for everyone who entered the premises, we helped in setting COVID-19 facilities like different entrances, best in their field doctors and taking care of hospitalisation due to Coronavirus. In order to assure our protection, we launched one of our most helpful initiative which provided Home Care treatment benefit at No Extra Cost for COVID-19 among others.
During this period, I have seen people personifying the doctors as God and let me tell you, I back them. Providing life while putting yours at stake is something God would do. And me, I call them family.
